Terms and Conditions
1. Installation Work:
a) All electrical installation work will comply with the National Construction Code of Australia (NCC)
b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
c) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any works found required to bring the necessary parts of the existing installation up to standard will be at additional cost.
d) Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floors, etc. Where impracticable, cabling will be neatly surface run, either clipping direct or housed in trunking / conduit.
e) Where carpet or flooring coverings may require lifting to allow concealed installation work, no charge is made for this service, with best endeavours being made to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard of the installers capabilities However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost to effect a fully satisfactory reinstatement.
f) Where agreed before hand, chases to walls, etc will not be re-filled and a plaster flusher, and final finishing to be supplied by customer unless agreed in writingall fill & skim coat plaster and final decoration is excluded.
g) All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, using dust-sheets and vacuum cleaning equipment as necessary.
h) The contract outlines the expected duration of the installation work.
i) Whilst undertaking the installation work at the property, the client is required to provide water and power free of charge
2. Exclusions:
a) Clearing and or moving off furniture and other items blocking access to work areas are not included.
b) Except where detailed, builders work (creating of holes larger than 50mm diameter, creating of support structures, etc) are not included.
c) Re-decoration and final making good is excluded from quoted costs, unless specifically detailed as included.
d) Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, wiring, materials, general waste and packaging is not included, If requested by the customer on the day this may occur an additional cost that would be added onto the invoice and would be counted as a variation to any quoted amount.
3. Extras and Variations:
a)All extras and variations must be agreed in writing prior to commencement. This will be captured by an ulster electrical technician via your digital signature on site or by the software used clicking the acceptance button after reading and agreeing to our Terms & Conditions.
4. Pricing:
a) The costs quoted assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with you.
b) Unless stated otherwise, the costs quoted assume standard working hours between the hours of 07:00 hrs – 17:00 hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required outside these hours may attract out of hours premium rates.
c) Any additional work not covered in our quoted costs will attract additional time charge rate of $105.00 per hour plus materials cost and GST.
d) All figures quoted are subject to GST at the prevailing rate.
e) All figures quoted are valid for a date of 7 days from the date of the estimate or quotation.
f) Any additional work not covered in our quoted costs that go into overtime, will attract additional time charge rate of $140.00 per hour plus materials cost and GST.
g) Unless agreed in writing, payment in full must be made on completion of the specified works to Ulster Electrical.
Stage payments: We reserve the right to request from you stage payments in the instance where works take longer than 3 days.
If payment is not received within 5 days, a 17% Interest charge of the outstanding bill can be added PA compounded daily calculated each week thereafter.
h) Any overdue Invoice may be forwarded to a collection agency and you will be liable for any extra administrative charges along with debt collection & associated legal costs.
i) Quotes, estimates, site visits, profession advice insurance & job reports will incur a fee (callout service charge) this is to cover our time on site, travel costs, time putting together quotes etc. this will be invoiced and paid within 7 days of the Quote. If our quote is accepted by you then we may waive the Service fee depending on the amount of work completed.
5. Deviations from Building Regulations:
a) All work where applicable, will be executed fully in compliance with applicable Building Regulations and the National Construction Code of Australia (NCC) in force at the time of the work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal Part P obligations to be met. Where a Client requires deviation from such regulations, a written instruction and record will be required.
6. Risk and Title of Goods and Property:
a)The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.
b)All goods supplied shall remain property of Ulster Electrical until all sums due have been paid in full. If payment is not made then we will require the return of all installed goods & property.
c)The client is responsible for ensuring that the property is insured for the duration of the installation work.
7. Warrantee:
a) Ulster Electrical warrants its installation work to be defect free for a period of twelve months from installation date. Such cover does not extend to goods not supplied by Ulster Electrical, physical damage to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.
8. Payment Terms
a) Full Payment on Completion: Unless otherwise agreed in writing or specifically stated on the invoice, payment in full for the specified works must be made immediately upon completion of the works to Ulster Electrical or Ulster Contracting, as applicable. Failure to make full payment when due may result in legal action to recover the outstanding amount.
b) Stage Payments: Where the planned works are expected to take longer than three (2) days, stage payments may be required. These payments will be requested by prior agreement between the parties. Ulster Electrical and/or Ulster Contracting reserves the right to request stage payments during the course of any project where the works extend beyond three (2) days. These stage payments will be due in accordance with the agreed-upon payment schedule and will be payable upon receipt of each invoice.
c) Deposit Payments and Cancellation: All deposit payments are non-refundable once the job has been accepted or scheduled. In the event of cancellation after acceptance, the customer forfeits the deposit. Ulster Electrical, at its sole discretion, may consider partial refunds of deposits depending on the circumstances, including the stage of work at the time of cancellation and any expenses incurred by the company. Any request for a partial refund will be reviewed by management on a case-by-case basis, and no refunds will be issued unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.

9. Dispute Resolution:
a) In the event of a dispute, mediation is to be the preferred method of resolution.
b)“The Mediation” shall comprise all steps taken to attempt to resolve the Dispute by mediation whether prior or subsequent to the execution of an agreement.
c) If Mediation has failed or customer has refused to pay the agreed Quoted amount then it may be forwarded to our collection agency or taken to court. You the customer/client will be liable to pay for any extra administrative fees & charges relating with Courts or debt collection associated legal costs.
