Terms and Conditions

1. Installation Work

a) All electrical installation work will comply with the National Construction Code of Australia (NCC).
b) All electrical installation work will comply with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the works.
c) Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs quoted assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any works required to bring the installation up to standard will be at additional cost.
d) Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed where practicable. Where impracticable, cabling will be surface run neatly.
e) Floor coverings lifted for works will be reinstated to a reasonable standard. Specialist reinstatement may be required at the client’s cost.
f) Wall chasing and plastering are excluded unless agreed in writing.
g) All reasonable efforts will be made to maintain a clean working environment.
h) The contract outlines the expected duration of works.
i) The client must provide access to power and water free of charge.


2. Exclusions

a) Moving furniture or items blocking access is not included.
b) Builders work is excluded unless specified.
c) Redecoration and final finishing are excluded unless stated.
d) Waste removal is excluded unless requested and will be charged as a variation.


3. Scope of Services and No Guaranteed Outcome

All services are provided on a time and materials basis unless otherwise agreed.
Diagnostic, commissioning, and fault-finding works are undertaken on a best-efforts basis only.

Ulster Electrical does not guarantee resolution where faults relate to:

  • third-party systems
  • Wi-Fi/network configuration
  • mobile applications or cloud services
  • manufacturer firmware or hardware faults

All time spent attending, diagnosing, testing, and attempting configuration is chargeable regardless of outcome.


4. Network and Third-Party System Exclusions

Ulster Electrical is not responsible for:

  • customer Wi-Fi, routers, mesh/extender systems
  • ISP performance or connectivity
  • third-party apps or cloud platforms
  • account/login issues or device compatibility

Where these affect functionality, further works may require:

  • IT/network specialist
  • manufacturer support

All associated time remains chargeable.


5. Extras and Variations

All extras and variations must be agreed prior where possible.
Additional works, fault rectification, or extended diagnostics will be charged at standard rates.


6. Labour, Travel and Pricing

a) Charges assume uninterrupted access.
b) Standard hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm Monday–Friday
c) Standard labour rate: $105/hr + GST
d) Overtime rate: $140/hr + GST
e) Quotes valid for 7 days
f) Labour is charged from departure to return, including:

  • travel time both directions
  • fuel and vehicle costs
  • time on site and diagnostics

g) Call-out, quoting, reporting, and professional advice may incur fees.


7. Payment Terms

a) Payment is due immediately on completion unless agreed otherwise.
b) Stage payments may be required for longer works.
c) Deposits are non-refundable once scheduled.
d) Late payments may incur interest under applicable legislation.


8. Overdue Accounts and Recovery

Any overdue invoice may be referred to a collection agency.
The customer agrees to pay all associated recovery costs including administrative and legal costs.


9. Debt Recovery and Administration Costs

The Customer agrees that if any invoice is not paid by the due date, Ulster Electrical may recover all reasonable costs incurred in connection with recovery.

This includes:

  • administrative time (follow-ups, dispute handling)
  • debt collection costs
  • legal costs (solicitor-client basis)
  • court/tribunal/enforcement costs

All costs must be reasonable and directly related to recovery and may be added to the account.


10. Customer Responsibilities

The customer must provide:

  • safe and clear access
  • accurate information
  • Wi-Fi credentials and system access if required

Time incurred due to:

  • incorrect info
  • access delays
  • unsuitable network conditions

…is fully chargeable.


11. Risk and Title

Goods remain property of Ulster Electrical until paid in full.
Risk transfers on delivery.


12. Warranty

12-month workmanship warranty applies.
Excludes:

  • third-party goods
  • misuse or damage
  • modifications by others

Records and Evidence
Ulster Electrical maintains records of all works undertaken, which may include:
• time logs
• GPS tracking data
• photographic records
• service reports
• written communications including emails and text messages
• call recordings where notification has been provided

These records may be relied upon as evidence of instructions, approvals, attendance, and works performed.

 


14. Dispute Resolution

Disputes should first be resolved via mediation.
If unresolved, matters may proceed to:

  • debt collection
  • tribunal
  • court

All recovery-related costs are payable by the customer.


15. Acceptance of Terms

Acceptance of Terms
By accepting a quote, approving works, booking services, or allowing work to commence, the Customer acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
